The state government pays interest on car loans disbursed through commercial banks, rural banks and the Reserve Bank of India (known as Assam Cooperative Apex Bank) under the ‘Apun vahan’ scheme. Civil servants can now get car loans with interest.

Apun Vaahan Scheme Assam(Eligibility)
All full-time state employees between the ages of 21 and 53 are eligible for the program. This guarantees employees working time equal to the lease period of 7+ years.
Apun Vaahan Scheme Assam(Objectives)
The Assam government has launched the ‘Apun Vaahan’ scheme to help Assam government employees. Through this program, government employees can pay 2 percent on their car loans. This increases to 3% for women and Divyangjan workers. 12 crore Rs has been set aside for this purpose.

- Male employees can get 2% interest if they buy a diesel or gasoline car. The incentive for electric vehicles is 3%. Women and disabled workers receive a 3% discount on every car purchase.
