Shrestha Education Scheme 2023-24: Empowering Meritorious SC Students in Targeted Areas

Shrestha Education Scheme:- The Government of India has approved a new scheme called SHRESHTA to help improve social welfare and fill vacancies among Scheduled Castes (SCs). The scheme is exclusively meant for the purpose of providing seats to the meritorious boys and girls from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community in the best private residential schools across the country.

Under the scheme, around 3,000 meritorious SC students will be admitted to CBSE schools and selected state boards through a national examination called SHRESHTA National Entrance Test (NETS) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students selected each year will attend boarding school for grades 9 and 11. Under the scholarship program, all fees, including tuition and accommodation fees, will be waived for these students.

Provides a pathway program to selected students at selected schools under the SHRESHTA program. Bridge courses are held outside of class time after course requirements have been determined. It focuses on developing students’ skills and helping them adapt to the school environment. 10% of the annual fee will be borne by the relevant department as the bridging course fee. The Department for Education regularly monitors pupils’ progress.

Shrestha Education Scheme(Eligibility)

  • Students must be admitted as Scheduled Castes (SC).
  • They must study at an approved school, a private school, a public school or a school run by a local authority.
    To enter Level 9, students must have passed Level 8 in the previous year.
  • To enter grade 11, a student must have passed grade 10 in the previous year. The annual income of parents of students should be Rs.2.5 lakh.
  • Students who must upload personal evidence and income prior to online instruction to apply for this scholarship program are not eligible for the matriculation scholarship program.

Shrestha Education Scheme(Important Instructions)

  • Candidates must arrive at the exam center two hours before the entrance exam begins. This is important because it involves reading the test center instructions.
  • students must bring SC certificate for verification.
  • Must carry a valid card and present it when required.
  • students will have to bring a valid photo ID to the exam centre.
  • Each candidate will be allocated a seat based on their number. Failure to occupy the allocated seats may result in the candidate being disqualified.
  • It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that they receive the correct documentation for the course they are applying for.
  • Submission of false or incorrect information will disqualify the applicant.
  • Candidates who fail the exam on the scheduled date will not be allowed to retake the exam.

  • A passport-size photograph

Interested students can apply online for the SHRESHTA Education Program on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website. The application process usually begins in August and ends in September.

Shrestha Education Scheme(Instruction on Admit Card)

  • NTA releases the admit cards of candidates on its website.
  • Candidates must bring this admission ticket.
  • Candidates can appear in the registration area provided on their credit card.
  • If a candidate is unable to download the admit card from the website, he can seek assistance by calling the available helpline number 011407590000 between 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • All candidates must read and follow the instructions on their admission ticket.
  • If the applicant’s information, photo or signature on the admission ticket or confirmation page is incorrect, the applicant should contact the NTA helpline.
  • Duplicate admission tickets will not be sent to the exam center.
  • Subscriber is not allowed to change their credit card.
